Circulation Policies

Borrowing Privileges
Individuals residing in Garfield County, with a valid mailing address and phone number, are eligible for a free library card. When applying for a library card, please bring an item with your name and current address to verify eligibility.
Parents or legal guardians are responsible what their children up to the age of 18 are borrowing or accessing and must sign an application before a library card is issued in a child's name.

Loan Periods and Limits

  • Books and audiotapes - two week loan period
  • Videos and magazines - one week loan period (New magazines do not circulate)

Patrons may borrow up to 20 items, keeping in mind the 2 week loan period. Checkout is blocked if more than 2 items are overdue or fines have reached $4.00.

Renewals
All library materials may be renewed in person, by phone, or via the Internet.
Items on hold for another patron may not be renewed.

Reserves
Library materials may be reserved in person, by phone, or via the Internet.

Overdue Fees
Patrons will be notified by e-mail or phone when an item is overdue.
Grace Period 1 week
Daily Fine $ .25 per item
Maximum fine accrual per item $4.00
