Summer Reading Program Begins - Libraries Rock!!!

This summer get in the groove with books and join Denny Ashby Library's summer reading program: Libraries Rock! Registration begins June 7th and the program runs through August 23rd. To participate, children who are pre-readers through incoming 6th graders set a goal for the number of books they plan to read (or have read to them) during the 11 weeks of summer vacation. Small prizes are awarded as progress is made toward reading goals. Those who complete their goals get a coupon for an ice-cream cone at Meyers and the opportunity to choose a book for the library's collection. A bookplate is placed inside honoring their reading efforts.

The library is also offering a teen summer reading program for incoming jr. high and high school students. For each short book review teens turn in they are entered into the prize drawing. One iPad will be given away to a lucky reader on Aug. 27th. Increase chances to win by submitting additional book reviews. For more information contact the library at 843-3710.
